Holidays Slouchy Hat

LOOM: All-n-One Knitting Loom + 1 peg slider.

YARN:  Approx 200 yds of worsted weight merino wool yarn. Chic Sheep by Red Heart was used in sample.  186yds (170m); 3.5oz (100g) in colors: Lace (A), Lipstick(B), Polo (C).

NOTIONS:  knitting tool, tapestry needle.

GAUGE: 11 sts x 18 rows=2”.

SIZE:  Fits up to 20” head circumference.

ABBREVIATIONS  Approx=approximate  k=knit stitch. May substitute with u-stitch. p=purl stitch st(s)=stitch(es)  rnd(s)=round(s)  A=Lace colorway B=Lipstick colorway  C=Polo colorway

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Set the All-n-One Loom to 80 sts using the 1-peg sliders at each end. Sliders will move inward in pattern.

With A, cast on 80 sts, prepare to work in the round.

Rnd 1-10: *k2, p2; rep from * to end.
Next rnd: k to end. Cut A, join B.
*Next 6 rnds: k to end. Cut B, join C.
Next 6 rnds: k to end. Cut C, join A.
Next 6 rnds: k to end. Cut A, join B. *
Rep from * to *: 1 more time.

Decrease rnd: move sliders in one space inwards; you will decrease by 4 sts. (76sts remain)

*Next 6 rnds: k to end. Cut B, join C.
Next 6 rnds: k to end. Cut C, join A.
Next 6 rnds: k to end. Cut A, join B.

Decrease rnd: move sliders in one space inwards; you will decrease by 4 sts. (72sts remain)

*Next 6 rnds: k to end. Cut B, join C.
Next 6 rnds: k to end. Cut C, join A.
Next 6 rnds: k to end. Cut A, join B.

Decrease rnd: move sliders in one space inwards; you will decrease by 4 sts. (68sts remain)

Next 6 rnds: k to end. Cut B, join C.

Decrease rnd: move sliders in one space inwards; you will decrease by 4 sts. (64sts remain)

Next 6 rnds: k to end. Cut C, join A.

Next 6 rnds: (you will decrease by 4 sts each rnd.):
K to end.
Cut A, join B.
(From 64sts down to 40)

Next 6 rnds: (you will decrease by 4 sts each rnd.):
K to end.
Cut B, join C.
(From 40sts down to 16)

Next 2 rnds: (you will decrease by 4 sts each rnd.):
K to end.
Next 2 rnds: k to end.

Bind off with gather bind off.

Weave ends in.

Add a faux fur pom pom to end.
