Working on rugs

Many of you have been asking about our  plan for rugs. Yes, it is definately coming!  It takes a long time to develope a new yarn as we are finding out. We have finally recieved our sample from the manufacturer and it needs a little tweaking. But here’s a glimpse of the raw yarn. rugyarnsample.JPG

It is mohair and wool, bulky with a little shimmer, and  very sturdy for rugs. I  love the new colors – beautiful fall tones. We will be starting out with about 12 colors, initially showing the first 4 colors on the site HOPEFULLY by the end of the month. I can’t wait to see the final yarn.  As soon as we have it, we will immediately have it on the website.  Since we buy direct from manufacturer we will be able to offer great prices.

Here is a rug srugphotosm1.jpgtarted on the knitting board.

IT IS NOT THE RUG YARN, but   it gives you an idea of the look and thickness you can achieve.

  2. Beautiful!!! You’ve inspired me!!! I am going to start a rug for in front of the fireplace in Autumn colors. Then make one for each season. Woo Hoo!!!
Gotta go, gotta start right now!!!

  3. Beautiful rug. I’m planning on making one as well. I had one question. If I used a worsted weight yarn, how many yards would it take to make the rug you’re making? What are the dimensions of the rug? Thanks!!
