Loom: 32 Peg Loom or Sock Loom 2
Yarn: 10 yrds worsted or bulky weight yarn, Yarn Bee Fetching Chunky in Emeraux and Diamond used in samples, and 20″ of metallic crochet thread, J.P. Coats Metallic Knit-Cro-Sheen in White/Silver and Gold/Gold used in samples
Beads: 12 – 15 beads to match, 2 samples use novelty glass Christmas beads, 3rd sample uses clear acrylic faceted beads in sizes 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, and 12mm
Notions: Knitting tool, tapestry needle, beading needle
Size: 5 – 6″ tall depending on size of beads used, 3″ wide, 1/2″ thick
Abbreviations
K: Knit
P: Purl
S: Slip
INSTRUCTIONS
Chain cast on 3 pegs.
R1: S1, K2
R2: S1, P1, K1
Repeat rows 1 – 2 until ribbon is approximately 21″ long.
Bind off using the basic bind off method.
Weave in ends with tapestry needle.
ASSEMBLY
Fold the knit ribbon starting with the bottom 3″ wide.
Continue to fold with each branch narrower than the one below.
Place the beads between each branch of the ribbon.
Thread the beading needle with the crochet thread.
Thread 1 strand of the thread through the smallest bead at the bottom as an anchor.
Thread both strands of the thread through the next bead
and through the middle of the ribbon.
Continue threading the crochet thread through the next bead and then through the middle of the next branch until all is strung.
Thread last bead on top and knot above the top bead.
Make hanger by making another knot about 2″ above the top bead, string 1 last bead, and knot thread above the bead.
