FRINGE FOR HAIR CURLERS
Cut 64 strands of yarn 24” long.
Starting 1” above the cast on edge, secure 18 fringe about 1 ¼” apart from each other, all the way around the hat:
How to secure fringe (Photos show a contrasting color yarn for the fringe for illustration purposes only, use same color as hat for the fringe):
- From the front of hat, hook the crochet hook under the stitch. See photo 1
- Fold 1 strand of yarn in half.
- Place loop at the end of the strand from where it is folded on the crochet hook and pull it through the stitch on the hat so that both ends of the yarn is still on the front side of the hat. See photo 2
- Without taking the loop off the hook, pull the 2 strands at the other end through the loop and pull tight. See photos 3 and 4
Using 2 fringe (4 strands of yarn total), roll the yarn onto the sponge roller using 9 rollers for the bottom round.
Repeat for rounds 2 and 3, 2” above the previous round with fringe and rollers.
For round 4, evenly space the last of the fringe and last 5 rollers around the crown of the hat.
Enjoy and have a wonderful time wearing your hat out on the town!
