Mock Cat Hat

This super easy pattern is great for beginner loom knitters, and your toddler will love it.

LOOM:  Baby-Knit Looms, 56 pegs needed.

YARN:  Approx 100 yds of bulky weight wool-acrylic blend. City Tweed by Knit Picks in Obsidian was in sample.

NOTIONS:  knitting tool, scissors, tapestry needle.

GAUGE: 6 sts x 10 rows=2 inches in stockinette with ewrap knit stitch (ek).

SIZE: Fits a head circumference up to 18″, toddler up to approx. 4 years old.

NOTE

Place a stitch marker on a peg to designate it as the first peg.

INSTRUCTIONS

Cast on 56 sts, join to work in the rnd.

Rnd 1-6: *ek2, p2; rep from * to end of rnd.

Explanation: Ewrap knit 2 pegs, purl 2 pegs, until the end of round.

Rnd 7: ek to end of rnd.

Rnd 8: p to end of rnd.

Repeat Rnd 7 and Rnd 8 until hat measures approximately 7.25 inches from cast on edge.

FINISHING

Bind off with basic bind off method.

Mattress stitch seam the bind off edge.

Weave in all ends. Block lightly.
