Chloe Lace Shawl

Who knew double knit could be so elegant? This beautifully textured and light weight shawl will give you just the right amount of warmth for the office or a special night out. Easy pattern for beginners. Entire shawl is knit in Criss Cross Stitch.

LOOM: All-n-One Loom, 3/8” gauge.  2 cm spacing for double knit using 48 stitches. Could be made on the 28” or 38” looms.

YARN: Chloe, by Yarn Bee, 70% wool, 30% Viscose. Hand wash in cold water. Lay flat to dry.  Color used in sample: Bisque. 3 skeins, 810 yards which includes yardage for fringe.

STITCHES: Stockinette, CrissCross.

NOTIONS: Knit hook, crochet hook, large sewing needle

GAUGE: 2 sts +3 rows = 1”

SIZE: 18” x 70”

INSTRUCTIONS

Set up loom for double knit at 2 cm spacing. Stockinette Cast on 48 stitches and place anchor yarn.

ROW 1: Criss Cross Stitch until end of row.

Repeat Row 1 until shawl reaches 70” or your desired length.

Bind off with crochet hook until the last loop is pulled through the yarn tail. In the same way, bind off anchor yarn until one loop remains on crochet hook. Pull yarn tail through loop for knot. Weave ends into the knitting.  Add fringe. Sample uses 16” of fringe, doubled and placed at 1” intervals with a crochet hook.
