Fall Shawlette

Another variation of a triangle-shaped shawl created on the Flexee Links, using the new 3-peg links. This specific design has 4 increases every other row, an increase at the beginning, two decreases at the center to create the center ridge, and one at the end of the row.

LOOM: Flexee Loom Regular + 3-PEG Links, 70 links + 3-PEG link (143 pegs).

YARN: Approx 250 yards, acrylic blend in bulky #5 weight. Sample was worked with Lion Brand Scarfie yarn (5.3oz/150g; 312yd/285m) in Pink Silver.

NOTIONS: Tapestry needle, row counter, scissors, peg/stitch marker.

GAUGE: 9 sts x 10 rows=2” blocked on Flexee Regular.

SIZE: 18.5” deep, 38” wide, blocked.

ABBREVIATIONS

K=knit stitch (u-wrap or true knit stitch)

P=purl stitch

St(s)=stitch(es)

Rep=repeat

yo=yarn over (lay the working yarn in front of the empty peg).

NOTES:

The shawl created will have a triangular shape. To create a smaller shawl, stop increasing when the shawl measures the desired length. To create a larger shawl, continue adding more links until the shawl measures the desired length. The shawl is increased by 4 stitches every other row.

The shawl gets its “V” shape from the 4 increases that are created every other row (odd numbered rows). All the even rows are the same (purl to the end of the row). The increases take place after the first 2 stitches, on the pegs adjacent to center stitch (the peg with the marker), and before the last 2 stitches.

Video provided for visual assistance (at the end of the pattern).
