Pebble Ridge Socks

 

KNITTING LOOM:  His & Her Sock Looms 56 (64) pegs

YARN:  Approx 400 yards of fingering weight yarn. The sample was worked with Knit Picks Stroll in Sapphire Heather (2 skeins).

NOTIONS:  Tapestry needle, row counter, stitch markers (2), 2 size US1 double-pointed needle (used for Kitchener stitch the toes close).

GAUGE: 16 sts x 24 rows = 2” in stockinette (blocked).

SIZE: Shown in a men’s size 8. Sizes provided for both His & Her Sock Looms. Note: using thicker yarn will provided a slightly larger sock.

Rnd(s)=rounds

W&T=Wrap and Turn (used for short rows in the heel and toe areas)

Note: Instructions for both knitting looms are provided, shown as follows 56 peg (64 peg), with the instructions for the larger size loom shown in parenthesis.

INSTRUCTIONS

Leg
Cast on 56 (64) sts, join to work in the round.

Rnd 1-20: *k2, p2; rep from * to end of rnd.
Rnd 21: *k to end of rnd.
Rnd 22: *p to end of rnd.
Rnd 23 and 24: *k1, p1; rep from * to end of rnd.
Rep Rnds 21-24: until Leg measures approximately 6 (8) inches from cast-on edge. End on a Round 24.

Heel
Use the short-row heel method over the first 28 (32) stitches.

Sole and Foot
Next rnd: k to end of rnd.
Next rnd: k28 (k32), p to end of rnd.
Next rnd: k28 (k32), *k1, p1; rep from * to end of rnd.
Next rnd: k28 (k32), *k1, p1; rep from * to end of rnd.

Rep last 4 rnds until sole measures approx. 7 (8) inches from the back-of-heel (or desired length).

Toe
Follow the same instructions as for Heel to create the toe.

 

Binding Off: Keeping the stitches from twisting, mount the first 28 (32) stitches onto a double-pointed needle. Place the remaining stitches onto the second double-pointed needle.

Bind off all stitches using the Kitchener Stitch. Weave in all ends. Block lightly.

Knit from peg 1 to peg 31, w&t peg 32.

Knit from peg 31 to peg 2, w&t peg 1.

Knit from peg 2 to peg 30, w&t peg 31.

Knit from peg 30 to peg 3, w&t peg 2.

Knit from peg 3 to peg 29, w&t peg 30.

Knit from peg 29 to peg 4, w&t peg 3.

Knit from peg 4 to peg 28, w&t peg 29.

Knit from peg 28 to peg 5, w&t peg 4.

Knit from peg 22 to peg 11, w&t peg 10 (two wraps and a stitch on this peg).

Knit from peg 11 to peg 23, w&t peg 24.

Knit from peg 23 to peg 10, w&t peg 9.

Knit from peg 10 to peg 24, w&t peg 25.

Knit from peg 24 to peg 9, w&t peg 8.

Knit from peg 9 to peg 25, w&t peg 26.

Knit from peg 25 to peg 8, w&t peg 7.

Peg 1 and Peg 32 have the wraps on them. Foot & Sole–Continue to the foot instructions (on the first round, you will pick up the wraps together with the stitch as you work the next round).
