Hello Knitters and Friends,
We hope that all of you are staying safe and secure this holiday season, and throughout the winter months ahead. This has been an unprecedented year for both our nation and the world. For many, this time may be painful and full of increased hardship . With many families out of work, and stores and businesses closed down, communities are hurting, and many families are in much need of some assistance. Maybe, they would love some warm, hand knit garments to get them through the cold winter months.
We are calling out to all our knitting community, you wonderful knitters that give KB such great support throughout the year. Let’s all get together, and give a helping hand by knitting for those who are in need of a warm hat, or scarf, blanket or shawl. Please help us, to help those in most need of staying warm. We all have so much to be thankful for, no matter our own circumstances.
KB Looms this year is donating to an organization that is on the front lines, helping those most vulnerable, and may not have any shelter, or support, The Night Ministry. This Ministry is based in Chicago and provides housing, healthcare, and human connection to those struggling with poverty or homelessness. If you have ever been to Chicago, you know they have incredibly windy, cold, long, winters.
Because we believe so much in this mission, we are accepting both hand knit items, along with slightly-used non-knit items. All sizes from children to adult are needed. This would include coats, jackets, scarves, mittens, and hats. We will pack them up after the end of the year in January. Please feel free to include a personal note with your hand knit or warm gift to wish the recipient a Blessed New Year. Please be sure your gift is freshly washed.
If due to your location, you may prefer to send direct to Night Ministries in Chicago, Illinois. Please let them know that you are part of our KB annual sharing program.
Or send directly to us at KB Looms, 60 Carysbrook Rd, Fork Union, VA 23055 (please mark on box “Donations”)
Thank you, thank you so much, everyone, and may you all have a wonderful, Blessed Holiday Season.
It is a great idea. Already do this locally north of Chicago in extremely cold WISCONSIN!
Those who get involved will receive more than they give, guaranteed! Great way for the young ones to practice their skills throughout the year!
I have a (?) . Do they have to be made on a loom????????
No, they don’t. Any craft is welcome and loved.
I have a sock loom, how can I tell if it uses fine yarn? All the looms out there, so confusing
