I am very excited about my last slouchy hat. I wanted to incorporate the last stitch I presented to you a week ago, the Crown Stitch, but I wanted it to be in a colorful way. I was envisioning something where the garter stitch rows were all in one color and then the “crown” rows in a different color. It took me awhile to find a yarn that had the right “length” of color sequence as well as a playful disposition in the colors. After browsing for awhile at different yarns, I found what I needed right in my stash, Knit Picks Chroma in Lollipop.
To create this hat, you will need to review the Crown Stitch videos. It uses the stitch through the hat, so be sure to take a look at it and practice it a bit before you embark on this hat.

Hi Isela! Beautiful, and Beautiful work!
Hi Isela- I love your books! Tell me- can you still purchase the DA Looms?? I can’t find them anywhere and I am having trouble finding a loom to do a small gage on. Any thoughts? I have the all-in-one loom but that doesn’t go that small..
Love the hat!! Is there a video for this hat? The colors are wonderful!!!!
I’ve got a question. The video for the crown stitch has you putting the elongated stitches on peg 1, however the pattern says to put them on peg 2. Are we to follow the video or the pattern? It gets a little confusing here.
Thanks!
I started this last night..using KnitPicks chroma worsted in Roller Skate. Increasing was really hard– at least putting it back on the loom. It was frustrating!
After a few false attempts on the crown stud h, I pulled up the video ..all good!
I just started this last night…I’m enjoying the challenge!
I think the hardest part is doing the increase—it was really difficult to put the stitches back on the adjusted loom. I think I ended up missing 2, and I hope that didn’t mess up my hat!
(Just started the second round of crowns)
