LOOM: ‘Premium’ Chunky Round Looms (48 Peg Loom)
YARN: Approx 180 yards of super bulky weight yarn. Malabrigo Rasta in Violeta Africana was used in sample (2 skeins).
NOTIONS: knitting tool, tapestry needle, row counter (optional)
GAUGE: 5 sts and 8 rows = 2”
SIZE: Adult size hat. Cowl approx 9″ wide x 24″ blocked.

INSTRUCTIONS
HAT
Cast on 48 sts, prepare to work in the round.
Rnd 1-10: *k1, p1; rep from * to end.
Rnd 11: *p3, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk; rep from * to end.
Rnd 12-14: *p3, k5; rep from * to end.
Rep Rnds 11-14 until item measures approximately 8 inches from cast-on edge.
Next 2 rnds: *k2, p2; rep from * to end.
Remove the item with Modified Gather Bind Off
Modified Gather Bind Off Instructions
Cut 2 pieces of yarn that are approximately 24 inches long.
Thread tapestry needle with one of the pieces of yarn. Remove all the purl stitches onto the piece of yarn.
Thread the second piece of yarn and remove all the knit stitches from the loom.
Locate the first piece of yarn and cinch the purl stitches tightly close.
Locate the second piece of scrap yarn and cinch it all the knit stitches.
Tightly weave all tail ends to the wrong side of the hat.
COWL
Cast on 23 sts, prepare to work a flat panel.
Row 1: k2, [p3, k5] 2 times, p3, k2.
Row 2: p2, [p3, k5] 2 times, p5.
Row 3: k2, [p3, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk] 2 times, p3, k2.
Row 4: p2, [p3, k5] 2 times, p5.
Rep Rows 1-4 until item measures approximately 22 inches from cast-on edge.
Bind off with basic bind-off method.
Steam block before seaming.
Use the mattress stitch to join the cast-on edge to bind-off edge.
