NOTES:
This pattern is created by first working the two earflaps on either side of the loom. Without removing the earflaps, the pattern is then worked like a regular hat.
Colorwork on knitting looms often has a tight tension. Thus, for a better fit, ensure that tension remains loose throughout the colorwork sections.
Mark pegs (1-48) on the loom for ease in following this pattern.
In the earflap sections, the pegs within the parentheses indicate the pegs that should have working stitches on them at the end of the row.

Bind off and weave in ends. (Be sure to sew in tightly the loose ends from the earflaps.)
Single crochet around border (brim/earflaps) for a more polished look [optional].
Make tassels on earflaps by pulling multiple strands of yarn (approximately 3 feet in length—1.5 ft on each side of ear flap) through each of the first three stitches in the earflap. Braid the three pieces to the desired length. Tie off with small piece of yarn and trim edges.
Attach pom pom if desired.
CHART
Hi
I love this pattern but have never used a look. Any advice?
Craig
You can also use knitting needles, something that gives a similar gauge. You will follow the instructions as written or as they are in the chart.
Approximately how long is this piece, not including ear flaps?
