How to Mark Loom
Mark pegs to facilitate chart/graph reading: 1, 9, 17, 25, 33, 41, 49, 57 these pegs will remain background color during the skull chart on the cuff.
Suggest to swatch before starting project.
To swatch for an item in the round, it is recommended to swatch in the round. Work up a swatch that is approximately 4 inches long. Wet block (lay flat to dry). Measure gauge after swatch is completely dry.
Kitchener Cast On
Using FG color, cast on using the kitchener cast on method (shown in video) on all the pegs.
To do the kitchener cast on you wrap tail of yarn around loom or use a slip knot on end peg. from there wrap working yarn around the FRONT of each peg going back and forth to create the zig-zag the area you will later tighten up for a seamless toe.
The toe is worked from peg 1-33. The 1st part of the toe is the decrease.
The decrease it done by lifting the stitch off the peg it is on and placing the working yarn behind the peg around to the front. Put the stitch back on the peg. this is abbreviated ¨W&T… ¨ the number is the peg number itself. For this project the decrease is always at the end of the row.
Adjust the width of the toe and heel by decreasing more or less for a proper fit. This pattern will decrease 11 on each side for the toe.
